Only problem...individual did not remember his computer was hooked up to a projector and his screen was being seen by the entire class. DUH!!!!! Can you say "Immediate Dismissal"??? |

I'm an Idealist...would like debates where candidates talk about the issues. Not a mudslinging - media polished add campaign. Reminds me of the book The Selling of the President. no cahones. shoulda had those town halls and a few extra debates. made him look like a wimp. not picking hillary also wimply. palin is thin but not wimpy - so far. mccain - also not wimpy. biden - kinda wimpy. but obama is the wimpiest. ![]() sorry - i couldn't resist. ![]() CHIP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Children%27s_Health_Insurance_Program Wikipedia is NOT a credible source for what sound a dog makes. Remember, it is the Presidential Candidate you are voting for. Not the VP. Though in the uniqueness of this election the later does need to be considered.

Everyone has a right to vote for whom ever they want. Have voted a few third parties. With the awareness that third parties rarely - if ever win. Got to check that one.
Unfortunately, they more often skew the results in unfavorable - or favorable ways. Depending upon other's points of view. |

I think there are some major discrepancies in things she says. She said she "told the Congress thanks but no thanks on the Bridge to Nowhere". The truth is that she supported the bridge to nowhere while running for Governor of Alaska in 2006. Once Congress had decided not to fund it, she then claimed she opposed it. Hmmmmm. She claims to be against earmarks. The truth is that as Mayor of Wasilla she obtained over $20 million in earmarks for a town of under 10,000 people. As governor of Alaska she has requested almost $1/2 billion in earmarks. Yikes! Winx, There ya' go being an "idealist". You know better than to believe politicians. ![]() Yet you are correct. Actions speak louder than words. ![]() |

so..if government doesnt exist to guarantee the welfare of the citizens or insure their rights to pursue life, liberty and happiness...then what "exactly" is the role of government? That is one of the philosophical reasons for government. Only thing you missed was to provide for the common defense of those governed. Founding Fathers knew that and the difficulty in putting to much power in one person or branch of government. That is the reason for our system of checks and balances. Unfortunately we did not listen to George Washington and developed political parties. Which has resulted in a system of "point and blame". JMO |

What if you end up losing your job due to the floundering economy and your child gets sick? Tough luck? Someday you may need it. IF IF IF, that doesn't mean I support it. Socialized health care is horrible. Wait times are forever, you have to have "permission" to see a specialist. You don't get to pick you own drs. It is going to be more of a tax burden for worse coverage than I already have. My company has 10 years of backlogged work and they are a defense contractor that also works international. I think I have pretty good job security. Glad you have job security. But what about the millions of people that do not? Bush has all but ignored the economy by making people think there are terrorist around every corner. He has been playing a "shell game" with the economy. A nation cannot be secure without a strong economy and ours is slipping very fast. Don't believe the McCain/Palin ticket are ready or able to address the situation. It is about more than oil prices. It is about how many will lose their jobs and benefits. Sorry, but the governments job is not to provide health care. The government does a lot of stuff that i don't think is really there job already. Socialized is going to be a burden to the even more millions that already have health care because we are going to have to get a worse system than what we already have. Again it will be a scaled system, so the more you make the higher % you will have to pay. I mentioned NOTHING about health care. ![]() |

Not a time for laughter. Rather it is a time for serious concern for everyone in this country. Not simply for the rich or the poor....but everyone. We have lost our Sacred Vision of what this country was founded upon. Not a time for laughter, fingure pointing, or name calling. It is time for a leader that can bring us together. Living in Arizona I am keenly aware of McCain's actions. He is not concerned for the common person. And frankly that deeply concerns me.

But...I haven't done much with it yet. Have no fear. I'm figuring it out. Helped to change the "Start" button to classical view. Also helps to remember everything goes into the file of the person who has logged on. So remember your password.
