I was wondering why on FreeAppDating we can only go back 25 pages on our previous posts? I am a hopeless romantic and occassionally like to look back to the threads where I met the love of my life. When the transition to FreeAppDating 2 is complete on Sept. 1st, will I not be able to access these anymore?

Which page are you referring to? You should be able to go back to more than the last 25 posts you've made. For example, to see all of the posts you've made, I can just click on the number below your picture which takes me to:
https://Free App Dating/forum/show_posts_by_user/414775 ..and from that page, I can go back and see further than just the last 25 posts. Does that help? |

You might wanna (if you're REALLY serious about it) click on every page of your posts on JSH and copy them one by one and paste them to a MS Word document before the big "change" happens... |

Oh I see, you meant more than 25 PAGES of posts, not more than 25 posts.
The issue with allowing users to go back further than that is that it is very server intensive to allow users to go back that far. That's why we capped the old posts at 25 pages. We could possibly increase it somewhat, but as the site matures, we now have users who have posted tens of thousands of posts, and letting them look up their first post can consume a lot of server resources. Unfortunately, I think the best thing for you to do is to use JSH while you can to copy and paste those original posts into a word doc as was suggested. Even if we were to keep JSH up, we would limit the number of pages you could lookup to just 25. The only reason we haven't done so is because we knew JSH would be shutting down. Sorry we couldn't be of more help. |

Wow, that sucks... I've got 264 pages of posts...
no way I could copy all of those.. or that I'd want to... who knows what I'll be held liable for saying that I forgot about  Mike, does this mean that whatever those pages contained that are now being removed will no longer be accessible to anyone on the internet... at all... ever? |

No, the pages will still exist on the site. We don't delete old topics or old posts. They just won't be accessible through your "Posts by XXXXX" page. So they won't be gone forever - you just need to be able to find them.
We would like to add a search function to the forums very shortly, so hopefully that will help you achieve what you are trying to do. |
